  REVIEW:

Every basketball team and corrupt government needs one – Shooter.

Mark Wahlberg is a hot commodity in Hollywood right now.  The movies he’s been in have done really well.  The Departed and Invincible are his most recent before his current movie, Shooter.  Base on a novel written by Stephen Hunter, Shooter stars Marc Wahlberg who plays a guy named Bob Lee Swagger.  Bob Lee was once a sharp shooter for the military, but left all that behind.  That is, until Danny Glover’s character Colonel Isaac Johnson tries to recruit him to help stop the assassination of the President of the United States.  Something goes really wrong and everyone thinks that Bob Lee killed the president and everyone is after him.  What the bad guys don’t count on is that Bob Lee will do whatever it takes to find out who set him up and why.

The story has a few issues, some of the dialogue sounds really cliché, but Mark Wahlberg rocks in this thriller.  It’s full of intense action, there are a few great one-liners, and the movie has a strong finish.  Unfortunately, though, the ending comes about 10 minutes before the movie's actually over.  Still, it’s exciting and sure to hold your attention throughout.
